Issue 45 - March 2018
FOCUS Photographic Competition: The City at Play
This competition runs from 1 - 31 March and is open to adult, amateur photographers.

To capture history and win, explore the theme of ‘The City at Play’ by photographing moments of play in the recreation spaces of the district being enjoyed by residents, their families, or four-legged friends. Wherever there’s play there’s a potential of a relaxed or adventurous moment.

Amateur photographers are invited to capture some historical reality for the future, showing what play means in 2018. How does playing today compare to the past? What new places exist for people to play in around the City?

Other photo contests are solely seeking photographic artistry or visual experimentation, but FOCUS favours truth over beauty. If you can achieve both in one image, you'll do well.  So grab your camera and snap some photos to show the people of tomorrow how we live today!

There are two categories:        Present Day (image taken in the City of Armadale in the last five years)
Historical (image taken in the City of Armadale before 1990)
You could win a great cash prize of up to $300.  Click here for full competition details or contact Birtwistle Local Studies Library on 9394 5641.
