Connecting Christians to Frontline Missions
Mission Builders International - Winter News 2018

Oh, What a New Year!

Greetings Friend!

The concept of MBI—connecting Christians with frontline missions—is entering its 40th year. Let that sink in for a moment, if you will. Behind that seemingly simple statement are thousands upon thousands of connections between volunteers and their friends in missions who have responded to the same call: “Who shall go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8) .... A Different Kind of Vacation

Mission builder volunteers are a do-whatever-it-takes kind of people. They’re learners who aren’t afraid of new places or different cultures. They fit in almost anywhere; ready to tackle whatever work they’re handed. Mission builders are the stuff real help is made of, which is why they’re first class world-changers.

Ken and Arlene W. are just the kind of service-hearted people we’re talking about. Here, in their own words, is their story.... Read More

• The vision of YWAM Monterrey, Mexico, is to equip emerging leaders, mobilize people to go into the world with the gospel, and transform nations by influencing areas of society through training, outreach and community ministry. Besides helping these folks with worship, hospitality, renovations, food preparation and auto and facilities maintenance, volunteers are also welcome to join in their outreaches to the local community, orphanages, youth and children.  • YWAM Ensenada, Mexico, hosts training schools, international conferences and local events as well as welcoming teams involved in construction for their Homes of Hope program. Volunteers are welcome to come help with construction and general labor at this YWAM facility located on the Baja coast just an hour and a half south of the U.S. border.  • YWAM El Paso-Juarez’s goal is to see a global harvest for God’s kingdom and a multiplication of leaders and missionaries—especially from Latin America. Their facility, the Rancho Los Amigos, is situated in Juarez, Mexico, and includes an orphanage as well as dorms and a kitchen. From this location, they not only train and send missionaries, but they also provide love, protection, a clean home, good meals and an education for up to 35 children. Ready to be part of a pioneering work? •  YWAM Ships Outpost Panama hosts a Jungle DTS on their totally-green island campus, which is close to the many unreached Ngobe indigenous Indian tribes they intend to reach. To keep their base of operations up to speed, they need help with translation, maintenance, construction, grounds-keeping, hosting teams, home schooling, tutoring and teaching English.

Port Kona YWAM, HI, is in urgent need of mission builders! If you’re a mechanic, handyman or handywoman, or if you can tackle ship maintenance, welding or engine work, please head over to Hawaii and help out! Of course, if you enjoy hospitality, housekeeping or food prep, there is a wide-open place for you as well. Keep in mind that you will be part of helping YWAM Ships reach out to the isolated and forgotten on the most remote islands of the world (Micronesia) where no airplane can go. • Having sent teams to over sixty countries and pioneered twenty new ministries worldwide, YWAM Salem, OR, is living its dream of sending a vast array of people to the nations. Part of the reason they can do this is volunteers like you. If you are able to help with anything from electric to plumbing, maintenance to grounds-keeping, office to kitchen, you can also be a part of transforming the nations.   • At YWAM AIIM in Pneuma Springs, WA, touching lives through refreshment, renewal, healing, empowerment, training and intercession is the order of the day. The practical help of mission builders goes a long way in helping them do the things they are called to do. Taking care of others requires a good kitchen, friendly hospitality, well-maintained grounds and facilities, and odds and ends of practical labor—such as roofing a basketball site. And volunteers get to be part of a phenomenal family in the meantime!  • YWAM North Cascades, Lynden, WA, is strategically nestled between Seattle and Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. From that location, they’re building a missions movement of young people who have encountered Jesus and dedicated themselves to going out as His ambassadors. Could you go give them a hand with carpentry, concrete, plumbing, renovations and wheel chair lift installation?  • YWAM Madison, WI, uses a variety of programs, schools and workshops to train people in how to show God’s love among the nations and in their own city as well, including the beautiful University of Wisconsin campus. They welcome volunteer help in everything from graphic design, communications, photography and videography to practical facilities maintenance and grounds upkeep.  • YWAM Faith Harvest Helpers, located in Olympia, WA, is on a mission to feed people physically and spiritually. By sharing the blessings of surplus, donated and gleaned foods and goods, they care for the unfortunate of the world and open the door for the gospel. Besides helping with food processing, volunteers can tackle the maintenance of equipment and facilities as well as helping in the office and with marketing.  •  Ever been to the grand old city of New Orleans?  If not, here is your opportunity to see it through the eyes of YWAM New Orleans, LA, a ministry that makes a daily difference in the lives of people in need and crisis. Elderly folk, children, teens, pregnant and unmarried women, homeless, hungry—you name the people in need and you can be sure they provide the ministry! If you can go help with grounds, facilities maintenance, housekeeping and more, you, too, will be touching the lives of those in need of the gospel and a leg up.  • YWAM Chico, CA, reaches out to the unreached in developing nations around the world as well as in the cities of Northern California. Blessed with the addition of their newly-paved road, their gorgeous, historic facility requires help from volunteers who are skilled in such things as carpentry, plumbing and overall handyman work. But the need doesn’t stop there. For those who enjoy secretarial work, hospitality, photography, food services, office work, housekeeping, teaching and more, there is plenty to keep a body busy!
