Ash Wednesday

The Chapel of La Trinidad UMC will be open Wednesday, February 14 from 7-8 AM for those who want to receive the imposition of ashes at the beginning of Ash Wednesday.  The church will also be open at 7 PM for a traditional Ash Wednesday worship service.  In both the Old and New Testament, Ashes represent a sign of repentance and acknowledgement of our own mortality and dependence on God.
Lenten Bible Study

Rev. John Feagins will be leading a Lenten Bible Study on Thursdays (except March 15) from 6-7 P.M. on the spirituality of the Psalms.   The study will include opportunities for prayer, reflection, and participation and will convene in the Chapel.

LT Youth

The La Trinidad Youth Ministry, directed by associate pastor Raquel Feagins, includes Sunday School from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., evening Youth Fellowship from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., and Confirmation classes. The goal of the La Trinidad Youth Ministry is to teach and guide youth in the Christian faith, strengthen their relationships with God, their families, each other, and their church, and provide opportunities for spiritual growth, service, and enrichment.

All youth are encouraged to attend Sunday School to deepen their faith in God and encourage one another.  Mr. David Sonnen is the Youth Sunday School teacher and is using the Wesley High School Blueprint curriculum.

Youth Fellowship meets Sundays in the gym at 5 PM. and features discipleship, food, and fun in a nurturing environment.

The LT Youth are active in the community.

In December, the LT Youth volunteered at the Food Bank.  In January, they attended the Las Misiones Winter Retreat and participated in the MLK march.   The Souper Bowl fundraiser in February was a great success due to the generosity of so many in the church family.  This March, the youth will be helping with some cleaning projects at the church.  In April, they will be volunteering at the SAMM shelter by sorting and organizing donations for needy families. In May, they will be attending the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio.  In July, LT Youth anticipate participating in the Sacramento Youth Assembly in New Mexico.  These are some of the exciting activities going on in the LT Youth Ministry.

We appreciate your support and prayers!

Mandatory Parent Meeting   On February 18 at 5:00 p.m., there will be a mandatory parent/youth meeting to fill out required forms, go over the youth schedule, and familiarize parents with the Rio Texas Conference youth safety guidelines for ministry with youth.
