New NAAE committee appointed
During the 2018 NAAE Conference the biennial AGM was held and new office bearers for the ensuing period were elected.

NAAE President Alysia Kepert presented her President’s Report, highlighting the achievements during 2016–17 and made her recommendations for the future directions for NAAE. Alysia celebrated two years of truly national representation on the NAAE executive, which she said, "Is essential as we work towards promoting nationally the importance of agricultural education and continuing to inspire the next generation of our industry."

Highlights during the past two years for NAAE included the commissioning of a new logo, strengthening of partnerships with other agricultural education stakeholders (including PIEFA), and embarking upon a review of the NAAE constitution.

New office bearers for 2018–19 are:
President: Hardy Manser (Queensland)
Vice President: John Lehman (Tasmania)
Treasurer: Mick Melino (NSW)
Secretary: Nicolet Westerhof (NSW)
Publicity Officer: Catriona Nicholls (Tasmania)

Incoming president Hardy Manser thanked Alysia and the previous executive for their work and looked forward to working with all stakeholders in agriculture education to ensure it continues to develop as a core learning area.

Hardy added, "It is critical for NAAE, as a volunteer organisation, to bring the states and territories together, along with industry and government to ensure efforts are strategic and effective and have the biggest possible impact on quality teaching in the area of food and fibre education."

Since the AGM, NAAE has worked to develop a biannual operating plan, which can be found on the newly launched PIEFA hosted NAAE web page, along with other resources and ways to keep in touch.
