Highlights and News from February:
- The Coachella Valley Association of Governments, members of the community, and project team celebrated the opening of the first phase of the CV Link on February 23rd, a 2.3-mile segment stretching between Palm Springs and Cathedral City. Totaling 50 miles, CV Link will be an innovative, multimodal facility that connects communities in the Coachella Valley while providing significant environmental, health, and economic benefits.
The unique trail design and shade structures against the natural beauty of the Coachella valley create an iconic landscape at the Ramon Road access to the CV Link.
Local and regional officials and stakeholders conducted the ribbon cutting, which was followed by the inaugural group ride and walk of the new segment.

How do you create a comprehensive, cohesive approach for biking and walking across numerous diverse and unique communities? It takes effective coordination and a depth of experience to develop an effective approach. From Alta’s experience completing numerous statewide active transportation plans across the country, we’ll share how to successfully create inclusive and user-friendly plans for large geographic areas with diverse qualities.
