Defeat Procrastination & Achieve Your Goals

Where in the World are Our Listeners?

This week we're giving a shout out to São Paulo, Brazil. São Paulo, founded in 1554, is the largest city not only in Brazil but in South America with a population of 12 million. One nickname of the city is Land of Drizzle (Terra da Garoa) for its notable rainy spells. The city has the 3rd largest concentration of skyscrapers in the world behind New York and Hong Kong. When you visit don't forget to try the pastel - a deep fried puff pastry for which the city is famous.

Tip of the week

Have an important event coming up? Many Olympians practice visualization before a big event to help prepare. The key is to have a script that details step by step what's going to happen and then visualize it using all five senses. This helps you make the most of your rehearsal. Learn more about the technique.

Look clever at a cocktail party

The athlete with the most Olympic wins is US swimmer Michael Phelps with 28 gold medals. In second place is Leonidas of Rhodes. Leonidas was a runner who won 12 medals (or wreaths back then) over the course of 4 Olympic games from 164-152 BCE. His best sports were 200 & 400m sprints and the hoplitodromos, a race in which contestant ran in armor and carried a shield.
