During the Art Rotterdam Week a group of Dutch art organizations take a new collaborative track. On Friday February 9 (20:00 - 04:00), they host the the Not For Profit Art Party in Roodkapje, a small step from Rotterdam Central Station, yet a giant leap from the intersection.
During the night, visitors are immersed in performances, installations, artworks, music and a myriad of multidisciplinary cross-pollination. Everyone is invited to this free and informal gathering of organizations, artists, and audience.
The concept for the independent Not For Profit Art Party was drafted collaboratively, after a broad assessment within diverse Dutch art organizations and platforms. The environment of presentation institutions often lies outside of the spotlights of the art world. That means: no central point, but a more informal space where artists experiment, collaborate and grow. The spaces where new, unknown and exciting art blossoms, spontaneous parties happen and informal networks are formed. The offstage environment where experiments and new forms are stimulated, whether they succeed or not.
In this uncontrolled environment we host the Not For Profit Art Party: a nightly underground hang-out where artists create, happenings happen, presentations are presented & collaborators collaborate to put the art back in party.
