Training for Death Certificate Completion
All Rhode Island healthcare providers who can certify a death and any professionals who may complete a death certificate must be sure that the death certificate is submitted to the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) accurately and in its entirety.
In an effort to help prevent and reduce errors, RIDOH’s Center for Vital Records is offering a training for licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and facility administrators who may be responsible for completing and/or certifying death certificates.
RIDOH has scheduled multiple trainings beginning the week of February 12 and continuing through April. All trainings will take place at RIDOH in Providence. The training lasts approximately one hour and includes time for questions and answers. Please complete and return the registration form so that we can assure all participants receive printed training materials.
In addition to any available parking in lots adjacent to RIDOH, metered parking will be available on the streets around RIDOH. Please allow sufficient time to find parking as we cannot guarantee availability of parking spots in the employee lots.
Any questions about this training can be addressed to Richard Missaghian at 401-222-8051.
