It’s been a wild quarter in Federal IT: sweeping new IT Policy, a government shutdown, and a couple new MetaPhase wins to catch up about!

On December 29, 2017, MetaPhase Consulting was awarded a new $3.3M contract with the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) to support the modernization of its Estimation IT System (EITS). EITS is comprised of a portfolio of highly integrated and interdependent estimation processing systems. Together these systems process massive amounts of data from many sources to generate our country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and many other important statistics, helping to position BEA as one of the world’s leading statistical agencies. EITS provides a comprehensive picture of the U.S. economy and impacts critical decisions affecting monetary policy, tax and budget projections, and business investments worldwide.
Under this contract, MetaPhase will provide complex custom software development support as part of an iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
MetaPhase also initiated support for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Business Management Office Support Services (BMOSS) contract supporting the Requirements Center of Excellence. Our consultants will join colleagues from partner Octo Consulting to support SEC in establishing a framework for requirements management, quality control, and implementation of a standard requirements tool. The goal is to effectively capture and manage new system requirements to provide a strong foundation for the remainder of the project lifecycle.

C.J. Augustine
C.J. is a long-time friend of MetaPhase and brings a new perspective to the team. After graduating with honors from the University of Delaware with a degree in International Relations, he moved abroad to teach English in Korea. Upon returning to the US, he built skills as a researcher for Thomson Reuters before entering the Federal IT Consulting market. C.J. joins the SEC project team as a Project Controls Analyst.
Andrew Salem
Andrew studied communications and public relations before joining the commercial consulting workforce at Acumen Solutions. Here he built expertise in ERP systems, deploying Salesforce to large multinational corporations. Before coming to MetaPhase, Andrew was leading Salesforce support for the PGA Tour. He joins us as a member of the SEC project team.

Alket Hoxha
Alket joins MetaPhase from DMI as a senior software developer. He will continue to support the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis EITS program, where he manages complex software development efforts as part of the system’s operations and maintenance.
Walter Kampas
Walt is a one-of-a-kind software development expert. He is a master developer responsible for building much of the BEA EITS system that generates the nation’s GDP among other important economic outputs. We’re grateful to have Walt’s expertise and domain knowledge of BEA.

Giving Back: Holiday Sibling Shop 2017
In December 2017, we continued what has become an annual tradition by participating in the FACETS Sibling Shop in Centreville, VA.
