Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! Keeping warm? This month has been unbelievable with the heat but not to complain, at least it came in the holidays ☺. But enough of the weather, if you haven’t come to see me yet at 456 Colombo street – why not? Come on in and say “hi” and if you haven’t hadn’t a consult in a while, maybe it is time to? The beginning of the year is always a good time to get a warrant of fitness ☺

In this issue:

Focus This month

We live in a world of too much information and often it is unnecessary or irrelevant. This can cause confusion and make us uncertain where to focus our attention. The term “burn out” often occurs under such weight. If you are coming into this year tired and less than optimistic then read on.

Product highlights – Avoid burnout

Check out what our 3 standout products are for you big brained, “fight-flight” people out there! You want to live life like a race horse well perhaps you need products to help you act like one.

Changes are ahead!

After 8 years of staying the same we are now changing things up as of the 1st of April 2018. Prices have risen but DP Herbals has stayed the same for 8 years! So we will be decreasing our pricing! (Shhh! – don’t tell the accountant!) – well some of them anyway. Time slots have also changed making it easier for all DP Herbalites to book in quickly and efficiently. Check it out.

Information overload = information chaos

Two hundred years ago, information came to a person sparingly, a bit of gossip one day, a note sent by a pigeon, perhaps a two-page newspaper once a month. Today, data comes at us like hail in a thunderstorm. Emails (at all hours of the day), twitter, texts, facebook, social media in general it’s impossible to avoid. What’s worse we have become addicted to being online.

Many of us are finding that despite how much knowledge and information we have access to in our modern times, it’s actually harder than ever before to retain it. That makes us slower when it comes to decision making. For the first time in history we are now reporting:

  • Decline in memory / information retention
  • Increased radiation & eye strain
  • Stress & burn out from speed & volume of information received
  • Lessened uptake of new, valuable information
  • Reliance on devices and internet connections
  • High absent-mindedness & social distractions
  • More distracted drivers on the road
  • "Tech Neck" from looking down and bad posture
  • Obesity, malnutrition, and addictions all on the rise
  • Increased aches and pains from sedentary life

What can you do? Simple and it starts with the slightest effort. Put down the phone, step away from the screens. Maybe go for a walk, and experience life for what it's been since the beginning of time. Connect, converse with others and share ideas one on one – simply put, enjoy this life. Let us know what you do and next issue of this newsletter (March/April) the best 3 will be included and prizes will be given!

Products that calm the nerves and soothe the mind

B vitamins are one of the groups the brain requires huge amounts of. Because they are water-soluble and pass rapidly out of the body (rather than being stored), even a short-term lack can affect the way we think and feel. Magnesium is also helpful for calming an anxious or overwhelmed nervous system. Increasing your intake of these two alone will do wonders for your overall mental and creative energy.

Good sources of B vitamins:
Whole grains, bananas, red meat, avocado, mushrooms, egg yolks, lentils, capsicum, beetroot.

Good sources of magnesium:
green leafveges, nuts and seeds, buckwheat, kelp, figs, dates, avocado.leafy

“No Brainer” was developed out of insistence from clients who needed their brain to work more easily than it was. Developed quickly (these people didn’t have time to wait) and has proven to be very effective. It is gentle and benefits the brain by increasing circulation and decreasing cortisol.

Change is good!

From the 1st of April 2018 ALL appointments will be either 30-minutes ($60) excludes hemaview or 60-minutes ($100) long includes hemaview. Best of all YOU choose the appointment length of time and as many of you are ticking along quite nicely the more affordable version of 30 minutes may suit best.

Initial consults: The format for these will also be changing. The first visit will be 60 minutes (as opposed to the current 90 minutes) and will include hemaview, initial information gathering and an initial “let’s get things going” prescription. Most clients will need to come back a week or two later for a formal follow up. This may only need a 30-minute consult but this is highly recommended to confirm and adjust your plan.

Hemaview with 5-page report is now 45-minutes ($95)

Let’s stay in touch! Orders, questions, thoughts, are always appreciated. Please email these to me at deirdre@dpherbals.com as texts can get lost over the course of a day.
