State Solo Update/Reminders

Hello fellow music educators!  As we are coming off a great weekend of IMEA All-State, I wanted to set us up for the next big state event.  I just wanted to remind you of a couple of things regarding this year's State Solo/Ensemble event on May 4-5

1.  The event will be held at Mt. View High School in Meridian (Thank you John Barker and Andrew Percifield)
2.  We will be adding Brass ensembles this year.  So now we have string, woodwind, and brass ensembles included.
3.  ALL instrumental solos will be taken from the UIL - Texas list. The link is on the website, and also listed here.  Please make sure that you choose a GRADE 1 solo.  Double check your solos to make sure they are on the list and a Grade 1 as the Texas list does change from year to year.  It is awful to have to tell a student they cannot qualify because their solo is not on the list. http://wwwdev.uiltexas.org/pml/
4.  The IMEA Solo List will continue being used for all Vocal Solos. The solo editions that are listed are no longer "suggested." All Vocal Soloists must use the listed editions.
