WELCOME BACK

Welcome back…and a warm welcome to all our new students. Our first week of classes were loads of fun with students and staff all loving the new space and the general buzz and energy of a new year in the world of performing arts!

As you can see we've also got a new newsletter format. I welcome your feedback on it so please reach out anytime to let me know what you think.

All new jazz and tap shoes can be purchased at Spangles or Bloch. Both stores hold details about The Tap Scene requirements.  Second hand shoes are available in the sale box at the studio, via an honesty system. TRIAL A NEW CLASS

Our range of classes across Tap, Musical Theatre, Acting and Ballet Technique give students the opportunity to develop skills and explore these timeless  repertoires. You’re welcome to trial a new class at no cost during terms 1 and 2.

For those with tiny tots, I invite you to trial our new Tap and Twirl class on Tuesdays 9.30-10.30. It's a great way to introduce little
Shirley Temple’s or Hugh Jackmen’s into the world of dance!

OUR STAFF

Paige Rodgers is the principal at The Tap Scene and teaches Tap, Acting and Musical Theatre as well as managing all competition teams.

We’re thrilled to have Miss Liv continue with us in 2018, teaching Jazz, Technique and Musical Theatre in 2018.

Please also welcome Miss Brooke Martinson who will be teaching Tap, Musical Theatre and Acting B on Thursdays. Brooke is a familiar face to students as she has been a relief teacher here for the past four years.

BYO FOLDER

Please supply a folder with plastic sleeves for all Musical Theatre and Acting students. Students are regularly given new lyrics and/or scripts, and these folders are a must to help students stay organised and revise what they have learnt in class.

PARKING POLICY

Thanks for respecting the rules and doing the right thing.

In the interest of student safety, nearby pedestrians, other businesses and drivers, it’s essential that parents respect the school’s parking and drop off policy.

Rule 1 – Don’t reverse out of our driveway
As tempting as it is, reversing out of our driveway is not advised and is dangerous. Some parents have already reported near misses.
You’re welcome to drop off near the front door, however you will then need to continue up the ramp to turn around come back down. Doing this only takes a few extra minutes.
To unlock the gate, enter code ‘2626’. Press the green button to exit.

Rule 2 – never park in the neighbouring businesses car park
Please, never park in our neighbour’s car park, we don’t want to upset them!  Approval of our DA was on the provision that our customers did not use the neighbouring business’ carpark. Should the business report and/or complain that The Tap Scene families are parking on their property, we will be penalised and may be asked to close down.

Rule 3 – Park only on the street or upstairs in our allocated parking
There’s plenty of parking for everyone but please do not park across driveways or or nearby private property.
