Caroline Marks in PFI BHSS Course

Red Bull Meets Catalina

Redbull has teamed up with PFI once again for the Big Wave Breath Hold Surf Survival Course.  This class was a private course taught for two professional surfers, Izzi Gomez and Caroline Marks- as seen in video above.  The women had a great time getting tossed and turned throughout the high impact and realistic wave simulations.  The course tested their safety skills, endurance and mental strength.  Each surfer completed the class feeling more confident in their skills to hold their breath both, safety another diver and have more understanding of the mammalian changes the body goes through in water.  Each agreed the BHSS course is a wonderful tool to help them charge forward in their careers.  Watch out for these two!

Safety Check

Keeping up skills and training is important between courses.  Staying in top diving shape can make you a better safety as well as help advance your diving skills.  Every day of diving should be paired with safety skill simulations, both Loss of Moto Control (LMC) and Black Out (BO).  By staying current and prepared on these skills, this can save not only your buddies life but your own!  We suggest running through each drill three times per diver. This engrains muscle memory and helps you to instinctively know how to take action in the case of an emergency.
