February 2018

Nursery opens again Friday 2nd March
Just a reminder that the nursery will open to visitors again in less than 3 weeks time!

Who knows what the weather will be doing then, but it's heartening to see things are already coming up...
Monksilver Spring Thing
Our first event of the season!

Saturday 10th March, 10am - 4pm
Monksilver Nursery, Oakington Road, Cottenham, Cambridge. CB24 8TW

Tim will be attending, and can take orders for collection if you let him know well beforehand.  Wrap up warm!

Although it's the end of the season, this is THE place to get snowdrops, and there will be lots to choose from...

Tim's been busy...

'Stipa' in RHS 'The Garden' Magazine
Tim was a judge for the RHS trial of Stipa at Wisley 2014 - 2016, and was asked to write an article about this trial for the October 2017 edition of the RHS magazine.  Stipa are always popular, but we hope this article will encourage people to try some new species - S.charruana looks particularly interesting.

International Cultivar Registrar for Geranium & Erodium

Tim has recently taken on this job of checking and registering new Geranium and Erodium cultivars.  If you're thinking of naming a new Geranium get in touch:

New developments at the nursery...

A new (and beautiful!) seedframe!
With the original seed frame full to bursting, we have just completed building a second frame to house yet more pots of seeds.  There is lots of seed to sow, which will hopefully lead to new plants on the nursery in the future...
Keeping you up to date..

We aim to keep the website frequently updated with new plants as they go out for sale - if you want to see the latest plants, see: www.plantpref.co.uk/new-plants

You can also find Tim on Twitter and Instagram, where he regularly posts updates on what's in flower, what we're up to on the nursery, and you might see a few border collies...
