GENDER AND HISTORY IN THE AMERICAS SEMINAR SERIES

On Monday 12 February, Chris Olewicz (Sheffield) will deliver a paper entitled‘Eleanor Hakim: Existentialistic Aesthete and New Left Intellectual, 1960-1963.'

On Monday 12 March, Dr Daniel Grey (Plymouth) will chair a special "Three Minute Thesis" postgraduate forum at the IHR. We encourage applications for the event from postgraduate students, especially in the Greater London area, who want to network and test their argument in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Society for the History of Women in the Americas Annual Conference
Friday 6th July 2018
The Women’s Library, London School of Economics

The Society for the History of Women in the Americas (SHAW) welcomes proposals for its annual conference, co-organised with The Women’s Library at the London School of Economics.

We invite 250 word abstracts for 20-minute presentations on any topic, geographical period, chronological time, or theme related to the history of women in the Americas. We also welcome comparative papers between two countries in the Americas or one in the Americas and a country outside the region.
The conference welcomes papers from scholars at any stage of their career, especially graduate students.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Dr Kate Dossett (University of Leeds).

Please submit abstracts along with a 100-word biography to shawsociety@gmail.com by the 20^th March 2018. Papers chosen for the conference may be selected for inclusion in a special issue of History of Women in the Americas Journal subject to peer-review.
