A Note from the President
Late-February, 2018
Wait, didn't I already send a February newsletter? Why yes, yes I did. But February has produced a ton of results, news, and upcoming events that I just can't wait until March.
For folks interested in shooting both the ITAA 50m Indoor Spring Fling and the TAZ March Madness (Buckle Shoot #3) events, we have an update. In addition to the Friday evening session, TAZ is moving their Saturday 8:00 AM line to be a Sunday 9:00 AM session. If you're already signed up and would prefer to switch so you can do both events, give TAZ a call.
So, since you can now also do the TAZ shoot, make sure to sign up for the 50 Meter Indoor Spring Fling on March 17th.
The Iowa JOAD State Championship was last weekend. This was the second half of the Iowa-Illinois Dual State Championship. 19 Archers competed in both states' championship events, and this year Illinois took the overall victory: Illinois: 6 wins vs Iowa: 3 wins. Great job, team Illinois!
The ITAA has a new Constitution and By-Laws. This should help the ITAA succeed in its many roles and goals.
The North Region FITA Field Championship is back at CBH May 5th & 6th an registration is open. More below.
Also, the North Region Outdoor Championship / Duel in the Cornfield is coming to Illinois this summer!

ITAA 50 Meter Indoor Spring Fling

By mid-March, everyone wants to be back outdoors, but the weather rarely cooperates. This year, we're fighting back, by planning an indoor event at outdoor distance. (The Bowman and Cub divisions will be at 30m)

 ITAA Collegiate Indoor State Championship
April 21st, 2018
Pulaski Park, Chicago
The ITAA Collegiate State Championships is open to all archers who:
- are currently in college
- have left college less than a year ago, or
- anticipate going to college within a year

North Region FITA Field Championship
On May 5th & 6th, 2018
Chicago Bow Hunters in Bolingbrook is hosting  The North Region FITA Field Championship.
This is a two-day tournament shooting at 24 field targets per day on the yellow/black World Archery field target face.
The course, the inclines, the woods, and the weather combine to create a huge challenge.

This event fills up quickly, so get signed up right away.

NSAC Indoor Championship
On March 24th and March 31st, NSAC will be hosting its two-part season-ending Indoor Championship series.
The first weekend is a 450 Round as a qualifier. The top eight qualifiers in Barebow, Compound, and Recurve are invited back the following weekend for a head-to-head knock-out championship event.
The beautiful NSAC Indoor Champions buckles are well worth the effort!

Strictly Archery Pin Shoot
On March 31st, 2018, Strictly Archery / Mission JOAD will be hosting a pin shoot at the Strictly Archery shop in Shorewood.
Come challenge yourself a fill up your pin lanyards!
