A quick recap of SeasonWatch (2010--2017)
We have over 1,58,000 observations from nearly 6,800 trees. These contributions come from several schools and individuals from the year 2010 onwards. See below the changes in participants and participation over the years.

Tree phenology
We looked at phenology data contributed from Kerala for 3 trees: jackfruit, mango, and Indian laburnum. The charts below explore the phenology of these trees over 52 weeks starting January to December.
Jackfruit comprises nearly 22% of all observed trees. A beloved and most observed tree in Kerala, its fruits are consumed raw or ripe, and feature in festive cuisine. We used all years data (starting 2010) to look at average pattern in leafing, flowering, and fruiting.

Mango is the much loved fruit in India and we looked at its fruiting pattern. Data from the years 2013, 2015, 2017 was used. We see a clear spike in fruiting in the summer months across years, before the onset of south-west monsoon in Kerala.

Indian laburnum has special cultural importance in Kerala as the flowering in the species signify the arrival of new year in the state. People have been reporting aberrant flowering in the species over past years. With the limited sample size of trees, we plotted flowering phenology of the species from 2013, 2015, and 2017.
We found that there is a peak in flowering consistent with the timing of Vishu across all years (week 10-15). But there seems to be a lot of variation in proportion of flowering trees from week 20 onwards over past 5 years.
