Eat Your Greens

At this time of year, so many folks are craving greens...and we have plenty to offer.

For lettuce mixes, Farmer Shawn's "under-the-cellar-stairs" salad mix is a great break from the winter.  Top it off with some tomatoes that came in from Abri Vegetal in Quebec, red onions and feta from Meadowstone Farm and carrots from Brookford Farm and you have quite a snazzy salad.

Since Farmer Shawn's salad mix is not as frequent in the winter months, we rely on Little Leaf Farms located in Devens, MA for a fantabulous spring mix.  It's crisp, tasty, and holds up for weeks!  Deliveries are on Wednesdays (Thursdays if the weather is bad).  We run out of it quickly.  So don't delay picking yours up today.

Farmer Shawn and Higgins Family Farm of Jefferson are also growing microgreens - perfect salad or sandwich topper.  Farmer Shawn offers quite a variety from radish to basic salad mix to spicy salad mix while Higgins Family Farm offers sunflower and a microgreen salad mix with radishes, sunflowers, and peas.  Spinach will start to come into the store in a few weeks!
Double Up Bucks NH - coming soon!

We are super excited to begin a partnership with the Fair Food Network to offer the Double Up Bucks NH program.  SNAP recipients can use their cards and receive 50% off local fruits and vegetables.  We are hoping to begin this program next month. We appreciate your help in spreading the word.  Stay tuned!

We are always placing special orders for members of our community! If you are in need of something that you would like a 1-time purchase of OR would like to have us stock something regularly, let us know.

Please consider supporting Taproot's NH Gleans-North Country program by planting a row of a specific vegetable in your garden this summer, which will then be donated to one of our recipient organizations.  You can learn more and sign up on our website.
