Dear readers,

This month, we’re sharing. For Amanda, that means an article about her life as an elementary music teacher and the ways she incorporates aspects of her classroom teaching into her studio teaching. For Keith, that means sharing a wonderful annotated list of solo repertoire for piccolo. The offerings for piccolo players have increased and developed in very exciting ways, and there’s something for everyone, from beginners to advanced players. For Kelly’s Musicians as Movers column, sharing means discussing pain, its origins and how to manage it to avoid falling into a chronic situation.

And for me, sharing means pulling out an old blog post that has become a serious passion of mine: bringing attention to the idea that you can have a happy and abundant life as a musician without having one job only. I have embraced the chaos of freelance life, and never yet had cause to look back.

Welcome to our February issue! We’d love to read your comments on these articles, and love to see you on our social media pages. Share this email and help us to grow our wonderful Flute Examiner community!
