1. Wardie Parish Church Achieves Gold Award
We are delighted that Wardie Parish Church has become the second eco-congregation to gain a Gold Award. We have also presented seven silver and four bronze awards to other congregations recently.

2. Come to our Annual Gathering, 28th April
Our Annual Fathering is on 28th April and is focusing on young people as part of the International Year of Young People. The event is in Edinburgh, only the second time we have held our Annual Gathering in that location.

3. Tree Planting Opportunities On Fife Pilgrim Way

4. “How Green Is Your Church?” Local Meeting In Elgin.
How does your church care for God’s creation? Would you like support to do more?
On Saturday 17th March, we’re hosting a meeting in the Williamson Hall in Elgin. David Bethune, the Eco-Congregation Scotland coordinator will provide information about the movement. He’ll explain how local congregations can get involved by registering and by taking part in the new awards scheme. Local church members will give examples of what they’ve done to ‘green’ their churches. There’ll be opportunities to share ideas and challenges, too.

A young satellite-tagged golden eagle has disappeared in highly suspicious circumstances in the Pentland Hills, just seven miles from the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh. Chris Packham investigated and spoke to Environment Secretary Roseanna Cunningham.

6. Churches In France Encourage Ecological Conversion
The ecumenical eco-certification label called Eglise verte (Green Church) was publically launched with a new website on 18 January, at the beginning of the Week of Prayer, to promote environmental awareness in local churches, following from the United Nations agreement on climate change Paris in 2015.

This year there are a number of environmental resources available for congregations to use during Lent:
- Lenten Fast for Creation from the Global Catholic Climate Network and the Anglican Communion Environmental Network.

8. Share Your Views On The Future Of Scotland’s Food System
The Scottish Food Coalition , of which Eco-Congregation Scotland is a member, is inviting people from across Scotland to get together for Kitchen Table Talks to discuss the future of food in Scotland.

10. World Day Of Prayer 2018 – “all God’s Creation Is Very Good!”
World Day of Prayer is an international, ecumenical, prayer movement initiated and carried out by Christian women in more than 180 countries and over 1000 languages. This year, women from Suriname have provided material on the theme, All God’s Creation is Very Good. The date is Friday, 2nd March 2018.
