Missions, discoveries, 3D

Over the next four years, eleven countries will coordinate initiatives to study scientific diplomacy as a part of the European Union’s InsSciDE project. Iconem is thrilled to announce that we have joined this project. We will contribute our international expertise in collaboration with the Sorbonne and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
Earlier this month, Iconem’s founder and CEO, Yves Ubelmann, travelled to Geneva to moderate a round table-debate, “Digital technologies’ role protecting monuments in conflict zones.” Learn about the speakers and their cultural heritage-centred projects on our blog.
French architecture journal, la Pierre d’Angle, recently published an article by Iconem staff and partners which retraces the evolution of architectural technologies. Read the article here (in French) and learn about our project to digitise a cave monastery in the south of France!

Iconem’s ambition is to preserve the knowledge of threatened heritage using digital advances.
Thanks to our ground surveys and our visual processing algorithms, we are able to produce real digital doubles of archaeological remains or expanses.
For sites under threat of disappearance, our technology guarantees that, whatever happens, the archaeological knowledge will be preserved.
By scanning today the sites which are under threat of disappearance tomorrow, we are working to preserve a common asset and we are ensuring its transmission to future generations.
