Sumner Bays Union Trust newsletter

Sumner Bays Union Trust
 Hi everyone,
It is starting to feel like autumn is coming soon – but what an amazing summer, former tropical cyclones excepted.

Welcome aboard to our new Bridge2Rocks TimeBank coordinator AKA Timelord Dean Harliwich. Dean has a passion for youth and is guaranteed to stamp his own unique mark on TimeBanking in our area. I’m already half-expecting the TARDIS to arrive.

Soon you will see copies of the Community Preparedness booklet and directory which Robin Arnold has been working hard to produce for the Community Preparedness project across the Sumner-Redcliffs-Mt Pleasant area. A limited run of hard copies will be available at various (yet to be confirmed) locations across the area. Electronic copies will be freely available. This has been a substantial piece of work involving input from a range of people.

Our Inaugural creative Art & Craft Show is coming up on Sunday 15 April from 12 noon – 6pm at the Mt Pleasant Yacht Club. Contact our Older Persons’ Worker, Maree McGovern on 376 4020 or 027 327 4493 for further information.

Rip danger: I was saddened to hear of the drowning of 14 year old Jack Sutton off Sumner beach recently. Remember to always swim between the flags. It can be treacherous out there. For an informative video about the rips here, watch this video posted on Facebook by Adam Hutchinson.
https://www.facebook.com/adam.hutchinson.101/videos/10213943333551065/ You don’t have to be a member of Facebook to view the video. I was heartened by the support that the Sumner community gave the family while the search was underway.

If you’ve ever wondered who makes up the team that is Sumner Bays Union Trust, here it is:
