It’s always the little things that can mess up a great trip—lost keys, crossed communications, annoying seatmates. Knowing which disasters are most likely to plague your journey will help you avoid them and make for a seamless trip.
- Rental Car Trouble - Program the phone number of the rental company into your cell phone so it is easy to contact the company should you experience any issues.
- Lost Luggage - Pack at least one change of clothing and any essential items—such as medications and valuables—in your carry-on bag in case your checked suitcase is lost or delayed.
- Credit Card Trouble - Call your credit card company before your trip to give notice of the dates and locations you will be traveling, and a customer service person will note as much in your account.
- Lost in the Parking Lot - Don't lose your vehicle in a large parking area. Take picture of the location sign (row/section/floor) so it is easy to recall. If you are using a rental car it might be a good idea to take a picture of the car/license plate too!
