"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." --Dr Seuss
People with kids often pass the following advice on to new parents, “Cherish every moment” and “Try not to blink. Before you know it those babies are going to be all grown up.”
I’ve been reflecting on these sentiments a lot lately. Perhaps it is because I have a rapidly growing, independent toddler who is evolving right before my very eyes. Or perhaps it is due to the interesting twists and turns I see my own life taking. Or maybe I’m just feeling the influence the planets; through conjunctions and eclipses; are having on us… whatever it may be, I’ve been reflecting on the beauty of life and how fast it can pass us by.
The recognition of how fast life has been going (I can’t believe it is the end of February and I’m JUST getting my newsletter out) has caused me to want to practice (and honor) the pause. If you have never heard of this concept, it is quite simple. To practice the pause all you do is stop. If you are frustrated or angry, it advises that you stop (pause) before responding. If you are feeling rushed or overwhelmed, again when you are practicing the pause you slow down (or stop completely) to take a moment to and enjoy the beauty around you. You can even practice the pause if you are already enjoying a moment by taking just a moment longer to linger. It is amazing how much can be resolved by practicing the pause.
Because practicing the pause is so important for getting in touch with your intuition, I’ll be touching upon it this weekend at the Earth Spirit Expo in my lecture, Unleashing Your Intuition on Saturday, February 24th and 12noon. I’m excited to be part of this venue. Come out Saturday and/or Sunday to check out the vendors, take in amazing lectures, etc. If you are looking for a reading from me, I recommend you pre-book as I will have extremely limited availability.
If you aren’t able to make it out on Saturday, but are looking to get in touch with your intuition, I’m having a class at Flicker Gifts in Hamburg on Tuesday, February 27th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. If you plan on attending, please RSVP. Hope to see you there!
That’s it for now! Talk to you soon!
