Two upcoming opportunities for high school students
who are interested in Physics & Astronomy

Metro Vancouver Physics Circle

The Physics Circle is a program catering to motivated and advanced high school students in physics. The Circle will consist of 2-hour sessions on Thursdays (from 5:00-7:00 PM), happening every 2-3 weeks, and will be held on the UBC Vancouver Campus. Each session has two parts:
  • Part 1: UBC Physics & Astronomy professors will give lectures on advanced physics topics, including sharing some of their research.
  • Part 2: Participating students will be given challenging problem sets to solve; this can prepare students for physics contests such as the CAP Prize Exam and the Sir Isaac Newton Exam.
A one-time $10 fee is collected at the first session to cover the cost of running the sessions (5-7 sessions from March to June) and offering pizzas for participating students and volunteers. Upcoming sessions: * You are invited to bring your own musical instrument (if portable) for Dr. Waltham's talk.
