Maddison Miller, Darug woman and archaeologist

When it comes to design led innovation and sustainable ingenuity, there is much to learn from the world's oldest living culture. Maddison is a Darug woman and archaeologist at Heritage Victoria. Maddi advocates for broader acceptance and incorporation of Aboriginal knowledge systems in design, urban research and architecture. Maddi is the co-chair of the Indigenous Advisory Group to the Clean Air and Urban Landscapes Hub of the National Environmental Science Program.
Meet our DATTArc Design Innovation Keynote:
Assoc. Prof. Kurt Seemann 

Kurt is the Founding Director of Swinburne’s Centre for Design Innovation (CDI). He will share insights of his new project on developmentally appropriate design led innovation education. A strong advocate for D&T education, Kurt investigates the relationship between people, technology and the environment as a complex, mutually influencing and adaptive system at the urban and individual scales of experience. He held the distinguished position of DATTA Victoria's Thinker Online, is Board Member of DATTA Australia, and has led many successful competitive research projects from ARC and CRC to Industry Innovations.

To get your paper in and secure the cheapest registration rate, submit a 250 short abstract/proposal to the dattarc.org site by the following dates:
  • By 1st of May 2018 to pay the HOT DEAL rate of AU$495.
  • 1st May 2018 – 30th June 2018, to pay the Early Bird rate of AU$595
  • 1st July 2018 – 3rd Dec 2018, to pay the Standard rate of AU$650
  • 4th Dec 2018 – 8th Dec 2018, to pay the AT DOOR rate of AU$695
All accepted abstracts must achieve a final full paper submitted online for publication before 1st July, 2018.
We seek submissions in the following presentation categories:
  • Scholarly papers (full papers, peer reviewed)
  • Scholarly extended abstracts (peer reviewed)
  • Student/Teacher Critical reflections on practice (peer reviewed)
  • Student Posters and School Projects (copy edited)
  • Books: Reviews, Launches, Invitations to create one! (copy edited)
Get started by submitting a brief 200-250 word abstract!  Proceedings will be given ISBN status, published online, and be added to the new archive of TERC (renamed DATTArc) papers, dating back to the first TERC in 2000.
