NEWSLETTER 18

Dear All,

We are already into the second half term of the Spring Term, with the weather being very kind to us. The forecast for the coming week is that the cold weather 'the beast from the east' will be arriving on Tuesday. We will still endeavour to take the children outside at break times and therefore ask that they come with suitable clothing (hats, scarves, gloves and wellies - if these are not already in school).

You may have noticed that we have a new website; a massive thank you to Mr Adam Clark who has spent hours designing, formatting and launching it for us. The website contains lots of useful information, including term dates and calendar dates. Please take a look.

Please note on the dates below that there are parents evenings scheduled as well as an Easter assembly at the end of term.

If you have any questions about anything happening in the school, please do not hesitate to speak to myself or one of the teachers.

Mrs Karen Bilner
Headteacher

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

Here's a snapshot of what has been going on in school. Don't forget that regular news and updates are posted on our website and Facebook pages.

Recently, the Woodpeckers went to Pizza Express in Ipswich to learn how to become a Pizzaiolo and create their own margarita pizzas! The children learnt how to stretch and shape the dough, put it in the pan and stretch it out to the sides.  After that, they learnt how to add the passata and mozzarella cheese to complete their margarita pizza <Read More>

Farmer James visited recently visited our school and brought his Massey Ferguson tractor for us to look at. He told us about what he does and about the food that he grows <Read More>

On Monday 19th February, the children worked into their house groups learning about Chinese New Year. Hedgehogs learnt a song about Chinese New Year and played instruments. They also said a poem and danced like a dragon. Badgers looked at the zodiac calendar and tried hard to write the animal names in Chinese <Read More>

In school, we are always talking about how to stay safe on-line. However, we believe, from time to time, it is important to come together to discuss this in more detail.  Internet Safety Day was on Tuesday 6th February and this week, all the children came together for an internet safety assembly before participating in different internet safety activities.

On Friday 9th February, the PTA organised a Valentine disco. Over 70 children were entertained by the DJ, who kept the children busy with dancing games. There were also ‘quieter’ activities which included decorating heart-shaped biscuits. Thank you to the PTA who organised the disco and supervised the activities and the parents and children who supported the event and made it such a huge success. An amazing £200 was raised.
