Interbeing Sangha
of Kingston

Weekly Meeting

Please join us for our next weekly gathering, taking place this Sunday, February 24th, for meditation and dharma sharing, 6:30pm at Unitarian Place (Kingston Unitarian Fellowship), 206 Concession Street.
Our True Home

"Our true home is the present moment, whatever is happening right here and right now. Our true home is the place without discrimination, the place without hatred. Our true home is the place where we no longer seek, no longer wish, no longer regret. Our true home is not in the past; it is not the object of our regrets, our yearning, our longing, or remorse. Our true home is not the future; it’s not the object of our worries, hopes or fears. Our true home lies right in the present moment. If we can practice according to the teaching of the Buddha and return to right here and right now, then the energy of mindfulness will help us to establish our true home in the present moment."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, Together We Are One

Tomorrow at KUF

Sangha-led service

The big day has arrived. Tomorrow, Sunday, February 18th at 10:30 am, Interbeing Sangha of Kingston will lead the regular Sunday morning service. We will introduce our practice and Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings, and explore the common ground between our tradition and Unitarian Universalism. (See below for a preview of the Order of Service with participating sangha members).
The service will include reflections on Engaged Buddhism & Social Justice, Thay's Humanism, and the Unitarian "7th Principle" & Interbeing. We hope to see you there for a meaningful morning - please join us to support and celebrate our community.
I Still Arrive

"Do not say that I'll depart tomorrow
because even today I still arrive.

Look deeply: I arrive in every second
to be a bud on a spring branch,
to be a tiny bird, with wings still fragile,
learning to sing in my new nest,
to be a caterpillar in the heart of a flower,
to be a jewel hiding itself in a stone.

I still arrive, in order to laugh and to cry,
in order to fear and to hope.
The rhythm of my heart is the birth and
death of all that are alive."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh, excerpt from his famous poem, Call Me by My True Names
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
