Panels of distinguished speakers will discuss topics such as, "Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Women in Politics," "Defeating the War: The Role of Women in Armed Conflict," "The Problem with being Saved," and more.

Join a Photo Journey through India and Bangladesh
The majority of the world's poorest billion people are women and girls, with the share of women employed outside of agriculture remaining as low as 20 percent in South Asia. The “Power of Womenomics in South Asia” tour represents a landmark international study trip as part of the Starr Foundation’s “Understanding Asia in the 21st Century” program dedicated to "womenomics" - increasing the participation of women in the labor force in order to bring nations out of poverty. Experts from Bangladesh and India will join students to share stories from the group's visit to the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, meetings with women entrepreneurs and legal scholars in Bangalore, and micro-credit programs in the villages of Pondicherry.

Please RSVP by Friday, February 23rd to Starr Lee: slee255@jhu.edu

Call for Volunteers: Support Little Stones at the Capitol Building
Little Stones is an award-winning documentary that unites the personal narratives of four women around the world using art to create positive change in their communities. From a graffiti artist speaking out against domestic violence in the favelas of Brazil to a dancer rehabilitating sex-trafficking survivors in India, each of these women is contributing a stone to the mosaic of the women’s movement through their art.

The film's creative team needs our help! They will be debuting the film for the United States Congress on March 12th, and need to hand deliver flyers to every Senate and Representative's office.

Reach out to clang15@jhu.edu if you're interested in supporting Little Stones on March 12th, and keep your eyes open for more SAIS collaboration with the film!
