Jump into Spring with The Alt!
Continue Celebrating Irish Culture with UH Presents

Honolulu –University of Hawai‘i Presents celebrates Irish culture and music with traditional Irish music band The Alt. The Alt will be performing at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoaʻs Orvis Auditorium on March 24 at 7:30 pm. Accompanying them are Hawai‘i Irish Dance and other pre-show performers. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased over the phone at 808-956-8246 or online at http://outreach.hawaii.edu/community/.

Become inspired by The Alt’s melodic tunes that tell stories of love, tragedy, and regret. Their songs will take you on an emotional journey while encompassing Irish culture with a unique American approach to their music. Acoustic Guitar Magazine said, “The Alt’s round-robin instrumental interplay is telepathic and miraculous.”

Audiences are encouraged to come early to see Hawai‘i Irish Dance who will be performing before the show starts with fiddler, Lisa Gomes, and musician/ballad singer, James McCarthy. Hawai‘i Irish Dance is part of a thriving Irish community and have groups on Oʻahu and Big Island. They will be performing before The Alt just one week after their busy schedule of performances for St. Patrick’s Day.

About The Alt:
The Alt is comprised of three masters of Irish music, Asheville guitarist John Doyle; fiddler, Kevin Burke; and singer, guitar and bouzouki player Eamon O’Leary.
