Did you know it ? 
Legionella belongs to Legionellacea family, which includes 48 species. Half of these can infect human beeings. 
These are microscopics bateriums which size can reach 2 micrometers. These are intraellulars, but have the speciality to develop out of the cells.
The Legionella species develop in acqueous environments which optimales temperatures are from 20°C to 45°C. Beyond 70°C, no more development is possible.
 
Legionella bacteria are species which develop in water sources and especially hot water. These are present in natural low salinity environments : such as lakes, rivers or groundwater.
Human installations are not legionella safe. In fact, this germ can proliferate in places where conditions are good for bacteria. Thus, aerosols sources or water storageare places where waterbornes pathogens could grow.
From pathogenic's view, waterborne pathogens can proliferate in water droplets inside human respiratory tract. This, leads to a human pathology , called "legionellosis". This one is provoked mainly by Legionella pneumophila
It is important to prevent Legionella & Waterborne proliferation human risk by daily  Following Temperature of Hot water, Monthly Legionella campaign monitoring, weekly flushing of Point of Use for several minutes
