North West Children & Families Network Relaunch!
Our network for third sector organisations providing services to children, young people and families in the North West area of Glasgow (previously the North West Wellbeing Network) has been renamed and relaunched!
Now the North West Children and Families Network, it will:
- Be the representative group for the North West Locality Children’s Forum
- Provide a strong and co-ordinated voice to partner agencies through engaging in participative consultation
- Share knowledge, experience and good practice
- Build connections for knowledge and understanding of other organisations to be able to refer and direct families to the right support and to develop potential collaborations
- Harness and communicate the voices of service users

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
NHS Scotland have published statistics on Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), showing that over 4000 children and young people in Scotland started CAMHS treatment between October and December 2017.
Barnardo’s Scotland is calling for cross-sectoral action to improve support for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, and a wider discussion on what other agencies can do to support CAMHS. More here.

NSPCC Disclosure Survey
The NSPCC is undertaking a research project to develop a practical resource that will support professionals working with children to confidently deal with disclosures of abuse and to improve children’s experiences of the disclosure process.

Citywide Forum Early Learning & Childcare: Sharing Good Practice
Monday 19th March, 10.00 to 12.00 - Albany Centre
The next meeting of the Citywide Forum Early Learning and Childcare sub-group will hear from the Children in Scotland CHANGE project, which is working with communities in Glasgow East to develop childcare services in the area. The event is free and open to anyone working in Third Sector childcare services in Glasgow.

South Glasgow Networking Event
Thursday 19th April, 2.30pm - 5.00pm - Govanhill Queens Park Parish Church, Queens Drive
This event is for local councillors and staff working in health, social care and education to meet up with third sector organisations who provide services that help children, young people and families in the South of Glasgow.
Third sector organisations will each have their own stall, allowing individuals to become more familiar with what third sector projects in this area offer. Third sector organisations from the South will also be able to find out more about what other services provide, which may promote better partnership working.
