It came to our attention recently that some internet service providers have stopped allowing what’s referred to as “non-authenticated” emails to be sent from one of our Sentinel client sites, and this is the method some sites use to send SMS messages.
As some of you rely on the SMS alerts to inform you of after-hours door alarms we wanted to get the word out in-case anybody else is affected.
It’s very easy to test if email’s are being sent properly from Sentinel Platinum:
Go to the Configure menu and select “Email Settings”
At the bottom of the “Email Settings” window you will see a field named “Test Email Address” … put YOUR email into this field and then press the “Send Test Email” button that is just to the right of the field (see screenshot below)
If the message you receive after this says “Test E-mail message sent to youremailaddress” then TAKE NO FURTHER ACTION , your software is working fine!
If however it says “Test E-mail message send failed” then there is a problem with your emails / SMS’s. In this case can you please contact Sentinel on helpdesk@storagesecurity.com.au , with your Teamviewer password with a brief description stating your SMS’s are not functioning, and we will sign into your computer to fix this.
