Dear <<First Name>>

AUDE is delighted to confirm that, with the generous support from HEFCE, we are developing the Green Scorecard to cover sustainability issues beyond the estates function. Additional aspects will include student engagement, learning and teaching, community engagement, business interface and leadership and governance. Read more>>

Commercialising university property assets: six key issues

Universities are increasingly commercialising their operations, and this includes, to a large degree, their property assets, both to enhance the student experience and to generate revenue. The shift in power dynamic towards the student, and the increasing demand for outstanding buildings and facilities, means that it is not uncommon to find a wide variety of retail and dining options on campuses, as well as other commercial service offerings, such as ATMs, banks, kiosks and shops.

So what are the key considerations and pitfalls when universities become commercial landlords? Find out >

New membership models for AUDE

As per the AUDE business plan 2017-2020, we are now live with the three new membership models for the association;
  • Overseas universities
  • FE and alternative providers
  • Commercial organisations
We are also actively encouraging additional UK institutions who have yet to join AUDE to do so. This core membership will remain our priority and will continue to enjoy the full set of exclusive benefits. The additional memberships will have a more limited package compared to UK institutions and targets are conservative to ensure expansion is managed sensitively. There will be a cap on the business partner packages for commercial organisations and each application will require executive approval.
Still time to book onto AUDE's annual conference. The programme offers a range of high profile speakers covering diverse and topical subjects in HE estates and leadership. Deputies are welcome to attend in addition to their directors.

At £490 + VAT you will receive three nights accommodation, all meals, drinks and refreshments plus a packed programme, networking, exhibition and the AUDE awards gala dinner. Book online >
