"Next Steps Toward a More Caring and Just Society"
From Mike's listening tour to Vision 2020 meetings to the board-led task forces, it's been quite a road to discern and distill the strategic pathways ahead. Please join us at the next PA meeting on Wednesday, March 28 at 6pm to hear Mike give an update on decisions, those pending and decided, of the SFFS strategic plans. Q&A to follow Mike's presentation so bring your questions! Please RSVP here for childcare.
Lost & Found: Is your child missing a jacket? A sports bottle? Please double check our Lost & Found—all items will be on display in the lobby on Fridays and Mondays. Any items not picked up will be donated! 

SFFS Teachers at March 15 Parent Education Event: Middle school humanities teacher Jodi Pickering and second grade teacher Anhvu Buchanan will speak at "Remaining Empathic in Turbulent Times: Talking to Your Children about Difficult Subjects."  Anhvu and Jodi will tell us the conversations teachers and kids are having about current socio-political issues, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The event will be led by expert parent educator Mechele Pruitt, director of Parents Place. RSVP is not required but very helpful!

Acrobatics with Sunné Clarke: We’re happy to offer our first acrobatics-only class in the spring term of the Extended Day Program starting Wednesday, March 21. This class is open to any student in grades 3-6 especially interested in learning new and/or refining already acquired acrobatic and tumbling skills. The class will focus on developing flexibility, strength, and agility within a safe and supervised athletic environment.  Sign up here or contact Marina Vendrell at 415-565-0400 x 160.
Grades 5 & 6 Book Club: on April 18 from 6:30-8:00pm we will be reading The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. You can find this book online or in the library. Even if you haven't finished reading, we welcome your family to join us for a lively discussion. Please RSVP to Jason Stone. Hope to see you there!
Learning Support Alliance Parent Meeting on March 20: Where should you turn if your child's struggles indicate a learning difference? How do we teach our children to embrace their diverse learning styles and those of their peers? What can we do to support the process of turning a learning kryptonite into a super power? Join the Learning Support Alliance for an informal Q&A with parent specialists sharing their expertise in mindfulness training, neuropsychology, and speech pathology, and hear from the SFFS Developmental Support team. Join us from 8:30-9:30am on March 20 in the Learning Commons for coffee, pastries and discussion.

Eating Disorder Discussion April 17: Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF Lindsey Bruett, Ph.D, will speak about student eating disorders to spread awareness about the warning signs, and how to help our children support a friend who might be experiencing an eating disorder. The discussion will take place from 6-7pm in the Meeting Room. Please RSVP Katherine Preston if you plan to attend and add any specific questions you'd like addressed.
