A joint meeting was held on January 22nd including representatives of all of the groups that make up the Foothills Community Food Partnership. We worked together and discussed the needs and resources of furthering food access in the East County as well as identifying our 2018 goals. A few of the goals laid-out were:
- Strengthening the Harvest of the Month program in the District by integrating education, having meet & greets with local farmers, taste tests, recipe cards for all kids, and featuring in school newsletters.
- Expanding the winter pantry program to Head Start families.
- Support and expand education programs at WCLS (cheesemaking, soil)
We are excited to continue working to better food access in the East County in 2018!
