The Phase 2 building- a permanent home for the Foothills Food Bank- is coming together!
Just shy of two million dollars has been raised for the project and we're excited to say that it will include an all-weather, outdoor play and recreation space. There will be upcoming opportunities to support this addition to our community, so stay tuned!
A joint meeting was held on January 22nd including representatives of all of the groups that make up the Foothills Community Food Partnership. We worked together and discussed the needs and resources of furthering food access in the East County as well as identifying our 2018 goals. A few of the goals laid-out were:
  • Strengthening the Harvest of the Month program in the District by integrating education, having meet & greets with local farmers, taste tests, recipe cards for all kids, and featuring in school newsletters.
  • Expanding the winter pantry program to Head Start families.
  • Support and expand education programs at WCLS (cheesemaking, soil)
We are excited to continue working to better food access in the East County in 2018!
Meet the final three candidates for Mount Baker School District's next Superintendent! Ask your questions and make your opinions heard March 5th, 6th and 7th. See the Press Release below for more details.
This year the Kids Dayz of Spring at the EWRRC is teaming up with Common Threads Farm to offer nutritional cooking classes for kids- on top of other fun activities! Then each participating child will get to take home the ingredients from that days class to share the recipe with their family!
