It was Awesome that the Mayor and Councillors in our ward care enough to come and speak to a young person
about his interest in creating pathways for our community!
We are happy to announce that Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre are now doing Foodbank.
This means more variety of Food for Second Bite on Wednesdays and more Food not going into Landfill!
Foodbank is by far, the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia
Last year alone, we provided enough food for over 63 million meals.
Foodbank is a non-denominational, non-profit organisation which acts as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry. It was first established in 1992 in NSW and now has a presence in every state and the Northern Territory with distribution centres in all state capitals as well as a number of regional centres. We operate with a staff of approximately 100 employees and over 3,000 volunteers.
Foodbank is a conduit between the food industry’s surplus food and the welfare sector’s need. Find out more about how we work.
A good breakfast can not only change a kid's morning it can make a big difference to their future.
Unfortunately 1 in 7 Australian kids arrive at school each day without having had breakfast.
It is estimated the average student loses more than 2 hours a day of learning time when they come to school hungry.
This is just one of the many reasons Youth Brekky Club is such an important program for our local community.
