Dear Acorn Fund Participant,

By now, you should have received your January Acorn Fund quarterly financial statement from Franklin Templeton Investments.  If you have not received a statement for each person enrolled, please call or text Joyce Elwell at 844-4FORMAN (844-436-7626) to be sure we have the correct information for you. We are so excited that over 740 children are in the Acorn Fund and are saving for college!

Acorn Fund Fun Facts:

Total grant amount from the Foundation used to create the Acorn Fund:  $475,000

New Acorn Fund enrollments in 2017:  364

Number of children with Acorn Fund accounts:  740

Number of students who have used their Acorn Fund savings to pay for college:  29

Launched in 2016, the Acorn Fund is one of the only programs in the United States that makes donations into college savings accounts for every child - from birth through high school - in a community.  The initiative saw tremendous growth in 2017 as we continue toward our goal of enrolling every child that lives or attends public school in Salem City.

Note to parents: It’s important to show your Acorn Fund quarterly financial statement to your child.  You want them to know that there is money set aside for them to go to college.  After showing your child the statement, begin to talk about what they want to be and where they want to go to college.  These simple steps may help your child see themselves as college bound and may increase your child’s educational success.

Be sure to like us on Facebook and Instagram to learn about all the opportunities we have for the students of Salem.

Best regards,
