EMS Response to CBRNE/HazMat Incidents

March 22 & 23, 2018
Malden, MA
This two-day course will prepare Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel to respond to incidents involving Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) events and other hazardous materials, including toxic industrial chemicals (TICs). This interactive course, using activities to build skills, covers topics including the role of EMS in a CBRNE/HazMat incident, how to recognize and respond to a CBRNE/HazMat incident, the use of appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE), and providing aid to patients after gross decontamination with a focus on life-saving interventions.

Boston Marathon Trainings: Use of the Emergency Tracking System & City of Boston WebEOC for ESF #8

This webinar series prepares public health and healthcare personnel and emergency management partners to use response technology available during the 2018 Boston Marathon. ETS provides an overview of the Emergency Tracking System (ETS) for public health and healthcare staff as they prepare to conduct and monitor patient tracking during the Boston Marathon.  WebEOC  provides an overview of the City of Boston WebEOC system, and includes a review of updates to WebEOC in the last year.
 

Module III: Hospital-Based Patient Decontamination Operations

May 22 & 23, 2018
Boston, MA

This course has been developed specifically for operational members or managers of hospital-based patient decontamination programs. The course is designed to engage participants in a discussion-based learning environment and consists of eight hours of classroom instruction, followed by a fast-paced, hands-on, eight-hour practical session involving the deployment of patient decontamination equipment.

New Course: Recovery Planning for Public Health & Healthcare Organizations
 

We are excited to announce that we will offer our new course, Recovery Planning for Public Health and Healthcare Organizations, from May 1 – 31, 2018. This four-week, fully online course will guide learners through guidance and best practices for long-term recovery planning, with opportunities for group discussion and planning with peers throughout Massachusetts. 

This course will open for registration in the next few weeks.  In the meantime, if you have suggestions for what to address in this course, or you have an example of recovery in action, email us at delvalle@bphc.org to contribute input.
