3 TEAMS HAVE ALREADY FILLED...DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE!!! REGISTRATION CLOSING SOON!
PGYLL is a boys “rec level” lacrosse league and is inspired by the principals of US Lacrosse’s “Lacrosse Athlete Development Model” (LADM) guidelines. PGYLL will be a “Small-Sided” League, with games played on an approximately 60-yard by 35-yard field. The games will be mostly 7v7 (except K-2nd Grade who will play 4v4). US Lacrosse strongly encourages the “small-sided” format because it is proven to quickly improve stick skills and greatly increase the number of “touches on the ball” that players get per game. All games will be played at the Walker Mill Turf Field right here in Prince George’s County! The age divisions will be: Kindergarten-2nd Grade, 3rd-4th Grade, 5th-7th Grade. Pride Players are on many of these new teams, joining new players all over the county, but CLOSER TO HOME!!
In an attempt to grow lacrosse in every corner of Prince George’s County, Pride’s Boys Program will offer the same great coaching and experience from the past but under four distinct regional programs. Practices will still be twice a week (only closer for most of you) and games are still on Saturdays (only closer for ALL of us). Pride will be running four programs and partnering with another existing sports program to offer the following:
- Hyattsville Wildcats
- Glenarden Jaguars
- Washington Clippers
- Brandywine Yellow Jackets
- Lanham Raiders (In partnership with Lanham Boys & Girls Club)
These programs along with the Marlboro Mustangs (a well respected youth programs that we have great confidence in) will make up the membership of the PGYLL for 2018. You can check out the league website at www.pgyll.org . Please contact Bruce Lancaster Bruce@pglacrosse.com. We are looking forward to a wonderful 2018 season and can’t wait to see everyone!!
