2018 Census
The 2018 Census ends tomorrow 6 March!
So while you're doing the census head on over to our website and update your iwi contact details too!
Every five years, Statistics New Zealand run the census – the official count of how many people and dwellings there are in New Zealand.
By asking everyone to complete a set of questions about themselves and their household, we can capture a snapshot of who is living in, and most importantly for Maori, collect statistics relevant to iwi, hapū and whanau – including population within identified iwi, use of te reo Maori, well-being and culture.
The next census is on Tuesday, 6 March 2018. Our Te Atiawa (Taranaki) database currently has a total membership of 9578 but unfortunately we only have contact details for 6722 of you.
Have you recently turned 18, moved house, changed your email address, phone number or added to your whanau?
If so your details may be out of date, This year is also the three year term trustee election and in order for us to provide you with accurate and timely information on this and all other iwi communications it is important we are able to contact you.
We would like to encourage you all to complete your census and at the same time update your contact details by sending us an email at tari@teatiawa.iwi.nz, ring the office on 06 7584685 or fill in the updated details form on our website at -
