What happens if you're hurt on the job...at home?
Whether you’re a full-time remote worker, or just telecommuting on a snow day, working at home can be a win-win for you and your employer.
But what happens if you’re hurt on the job…at home? Are you still covered by workers’ comp? Often, the answer is yes.

Organize Your Home Office Day (March 13) is a good time to remind telecommuting employees about workspace safety and ergonomics. Here are some tips:
Adjustable chair
Adjust your chair so your feet are flat on the floor and your lower back is supported.
Monitor placement
Place your computer screen at arm’s length away with the top third at eye level.
Extra lighting
Use extra lighting for close-up tasks.
Use a monitor and keyboard with laptops
If you use a laptop as your primary computer, consider adding a separate monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
Clear clutter
Clear away tripping hazards, such as loose cords.
Take a break
Take regular breaks to walk, stretch, and rest your eyes.
