This is a reprint of last October's (and first) EwA newsletter so that we have it in our new archive. 10/01/17 – No, you did not miss any of our newsletters: This is truly our first! From now on we plan to send a quarterly newsletter so that you hear about the great projects that Earthwise Aware is involved in, or is developing.Cultivating Practical Ecological Literacy and Ethics Connecting People with Nature
» Check our EwA Short Intro Video Short Summary of a Busy Year...So much has happened since we started Earthwise Aware (EwA) last year!
▹ We developed and grew Earthwise Aware's mission, vision, and values.
▹ Very quickly we started building the initial structure and content of EwA's organization. We’ve developed the EwA ecological ethics framework (a.k.a. EwA Eco-Ethics). And because a picture is worth a thousand words, we even came up with both a cool logo for our organization and a diagram for our Eco-Ethics model!
▹ We also incorporated and acquired our 501(c)(3) status this Spring, and launched our donation platform shortly after.
▹ We worked great collaborations with a few scientists to write some of our main nature & wildlife guides and etiquettes.
▹ We published insightful articles from our wonderful contributors.
▹ We are starting partnerships with a few community centers and conservation nonprofits.
▹ EwA's website improved quite a bit as well. We always have in mind to expose valuable/reliable content that is both usable and fun, and also visually attractive. It's hard work but very rewarding. Go look at the site: it never looked better!
▹ And while we keep that busy learning, growing, developing and reaching out, we are now in the process of writing our EwA Volunteer Handbook so as to recruit great talents to help us with EwA's mission.
▹ One last note: if you're in the Boston area this Fall, come and join our first EwA seminar hosted by a community center with whom we now partner with on a program to connect our Youth with Nature! It'll be fun!
All this could not happen without your support. We are so grateful to have you in our community!
Thanks!
