Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

WEEKLY REFLECTION
"Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life." John 3:14-15

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

God provided an anti-venom for the snake bites that were killing the Israelites in the wilderness because of their sin in finding contemptible the food God provided. Their healing required that they look on the bronze serpent on a pole and trust that God would do as he had promised and heal them.

The sins of the whole world that came about because of the venomous evil of the Serpent, Satan were laid on Jesus on the cross. And there God provided the perfect healing anti-venom for sin and therefore death. It was done through love and by grace. All that is required that we look on Christ upon the cross and trust the one who promised that in believing in him we would be healed, made whole, and receive the gift of eternal life.

May we so look, so believe, and receive the gift offered.

In the grace, peace, and love of Christ,
Rev'd Sarah+

MAGNIFY THE LIVING LORD - VOLUME 8

"Witnessing for the Lord can be as simple as relaying to someone who is experiencing a problem how God helped you with a problem of your own.  Even if you fumble with the words, by sharing that incident God will be able to use your witness to encourage that person to come to Him.  It is up to you to ask God to provide you with such opportunities." (Paraphrased from Forward Day by Day)

Writing for Magnify the Living Lord – Vol. 8 may be such an opportunity for you. Previous volumes can be found online HERE

Please email your stories to Joy Sutton HERE  If you would rather just tell about a happening instead, please phone the Parish Office with your contact information and Joy will call you back and will write it for you.
