Hello Nordic Folk!

The snow keeps on coming, and our grooming crew is doing a fantastic job keeping the tracks in excellent condition.  We appreciate the efforts of our many volunteers, and we hope that you are getting out to enjoy some time on the trails.

We are trying a new way of sending our membership information, so we hope that you like the new look.  We are also sending this email to our current and past members because we want to keep in touch.  However, if you do not want to receive RNSC emails, you may unsubscribe at any time.

We also want to thank-you for supporting our club through your membership fees.  As a non-profit organization, we rely on your support to keep this whole show running.  Encourage your friends to join, and if you don't have your membership yet, you can still get one using our online registration.

We are very proud of our club and its history, and we hope you enjoy reading about all the great things going on at our club.

Headlamp Heroes: Wednesday Night!

Team sprints are back!  Headlamp Heroes is a fun race series for all members.  This week's race is a Team Sprint format.  It features two skiers per team; one classic skier and one skate skier. Registration is from 6 - 6:30 and racing starts at 7!  Cost is $2 and costumes are strongly encouraged. Thanks to The Modern for sponsoring the event. This race will be a blast!
BC Midget Championships: March 3rd-4th
The RNSC is hosting the BC Midget Championships, a race event for young skiers aged 8-12.  We have at least 80 club members volunteering to make this race a memorable experience for these young racers.  As you can imagine, with over 400 racers, parents, and coaches visiting our club, this race will put immense pressure on our facilities and it will be an inconvenience to some members.  We apologize in advance and we thank-you for your patience. The race will be held around the lodge, on Titan, Dynamite, and the start of Main Loop Trail. If you care to read more about this race, please see the Race Information page on our website.  For all members, there are two key things to keep in mind for this weekend:

***The Parking Lot will be Full***
  • We strongly encourage members and guests to wait to ski until after 3pm each day.
  • Only cars with 4 or more people will be allowed to park on site, and the lot will fill up quickly.
  • Drop offs for equipment and passengers is permitted and encouraged.
  • Do not park on HWY 23S.
***A Shuttle Bus is Available***
There is a free shuttle-bus service from the Big Eddy to the lodge this weekend.
  • Park your car at the Big Eddy Fuel Services (733 Hwy 23 S, Revelstoke) and take a shuttle bus to the lodge.
  • The shuttle starts at 8pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday, and it will run back and forth between the lodge and the parking lot every 30 minutes.
BC Winter Games
Congratulations to our Nordic racers who competed in the 2018 BC Winter Games.  There is a great article in the Revelstoke Review and the title says it all: Nordic Skiers Lead the Podium Charge at BC Games.
Team Scream
Thanks to all the volunteers who made Team Scream the best costume party on skis!  Results from the race on on the website, and here are some photos and a video for you to enjoy.
