Thank you for joining our mailing list. February has been an exciting month for our family. In our first monthly newsletter, we're sharing updates on the farm, a little bit about our backstory and announcing a sale!

Nearly two years in the making

This summer will be two years since we dreamed up a new life for our family and set out from the NYC area to explore WV. By October of 2016, we had fallen in love with Shepherdstown, and purchased our land. It has been a big transition with a lot of effort going into everything we're trying to accomplish.

We have established chicken and duck flocks and have livestock guardian dogs protecting them. We have a preliminary site plan for the farm and are in the final stages of preparing to build a house. We suspected it would be hard, but really had no idea how long it would take to design and build a house on previously undeveloped land (the paperwork!).

Thankfully our passion for a healthy, peaceful life and our desire for the highest quality food we can grow has kept us going. We’re so pleased that we’ve reached the milestone of beginning to sell products from our farm!

We’re really proud of the quality of eggs that we’re producing and are so thankful that we were able to connect with our first customers this month.

Our chickens and ducks are laying more and more eggs - during the month of February we broke our daily record many times, and we’re getting well over 2 dozen eggs daily now.

Egg White Allergies No More

Both our children were allergic to egg whites their whole lives. Regardless of the quality of eggs we purchased, we were never able to feed our children egg whites without severe reactions until our own chickens started laying. Now they both enjoy whole eggs on a daily basis with no side effects.

We believe our eggs are healthier because of how we raise our chickens (and ducks). All our poultry are given organic feed free from corn and soy and have access to our pasture and wooded areas all day. The space we have amounts to about 5,000 square feet of pasture per bird and plenty of opportunity to exercise, dust bath and hunt bugs!
