My Dearest Hafsa,

Nine years ago today, Allah blessed me with you. I am forever thankful that you are my daughter and I have the privilege of being your Mom.

Like most parents, I have a long list of prayers, wants and hopes for you. The most important thing I want and need you to know is that you are loved by Allah, your family, community and an extended group of friends.

“What do you want for dinner?” I asked the Kid.
She replied, ‘Empanadas’.
I was surprised because I didn’t think she knew what they were. We have never eaten or made them before. But I agreed to make them.
