Now is the perfect time...

With just 25 days to Neighbour Day, now is the perfect time to make your plan to connect with those around you. It’s good for everyone – both young and old to be involved in their local community.

In this edition, we welcome five new Very Neighbourly Organisations and let you how you can promote public Neighbour Day events in your local community - for FREE!

It is well known that good relationships with others support our mental health, reduce social isolation and makes us feel connected to our community.

It's time to reconnect with those around us. #NeighbourDay

Children thrive in a supportive environment

It’s important that we build positive relationships with the children and families in our neighbourhood, where we can.

Smile, say hello, remember their names and listen to them when needed.

We need to be creating communities where children and young people feel welcome and people help each other out in creating safe and inclusive neighbourhoods.

After all - It takes a neighbourhood to raise a child! #NeighbourDay

Very neighbourly for kids…
And very neighbourly in the west!

We are super excited to have three new Very Neighbourly Organisations – all about kids!

NAPCAN,  yourtown and kidshelpline are each doing wonderful work in communities supporting children and young people across Australia.

This month we also welcome two terrific cities in Western Australia as Very Neighbourly Organisations - the City of Kwinana and the City of South Perth. Check out what Neighbour Day looks like in the west!

How to promote public Neighbour Day events –
for FREE!!

Many of you have asked us whether we can provide a public noticeboard to help promote your Neighbour Day celebrations. Our good friends at Nabo have offered to help us (and you) out!

Nabo is an awesome Very Neighbourly Organisation and an online service that connects neighbours to build stronger communities. Nabo works for residents, community groups and local councils and has over 300,000 members around Australia. This makes it a great place to act as our noticeboard for Neighbour Day events!

Not only will Nabo be a noticeboard for your Neighbour Day events, but Nabo will also promote Neighbour Day events to local communities. By placing your event on Nabo, it will be highlighted to their local members in weekly emails, it will be visible on search engines and Nabo will be running competitions to drive more members to events. See what Nabo has planned for Neighbour Day.

Very neighbourly indeed!
