Launch of the Barrier Tracker app
|
|
The app will be launched at different locations throughout Europe on the 21st of April, asking citizens to support the building of a map with all the freshwater barriers in Europe. People can upload photos and locations of barriers that they see in their surrounding and this information will be used to complete the map.
|
The app will play a crucial rol in the Citizen Science program to bring the worlds of the scientists and local citizens together and reconnect European rivers together.
Want to know how you can make the difference and help us reconnect European Rivers?
We will tell you on 21 April, 2018...

We are pleased to introduce the FIThydro project!
By Peter Rutschmann, FIThydro Coordinator
We are pleased to introduce the FIThydro project to you (https://www.fithydro.eu/). FIThydro, Fish friendly innovative solutions for hydropower, addresses the decision support in commissioning and operating hydropower plants (HPP) by use of existing and innovative technologies. It concentrates on mitigation measures and strategies to develop cost-efficient environmental solutions and on strategies to avoid individual fish damage and enhancing population developments. Therefore, HPPS all over Europe are involved as test sites.
As the work of the Amber and the FIThydro project are closely related, both projects are working on a strategy to collaborate closely for maximized efficiency and best use of the available data and resources. We highly appreciate this chance and are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration!
