Call for Papers and Exhibitors

ASDWA is the professional Association supporting state drinking water programs in their efforts to protect public health and implement the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.  Our members are the 50 states, territories, the Navajo Nation, and the District of Columbia.  On behalf of our members, you are invited to join state, Federal, and local water professionals who will gather at  ASDWA’s 26th Annual Conference to tackle the many challenges facing the water community.  By contributing your knowledge and vision to the conference’s program you can help us achieve our goal of protecting public health as we face an array of 21st century challenges.  ASDWA solicits exhibitors of products and services that are invaluable in helping us achieve our collective goals, as well as oral presentations for the conference’s program.

Annual Conference Attendance Profile:
Approximately 250 attendees are expected at ASDWA’s Twenty-Sixth Annual Conference in Minneapolis, MN.  Conference attendees will include state and territorial drinking water program administrators and their staff, government personnel from EPA and other Federal agencies, drinking water association personnel, and industry group representatives.

This 26th Anniversary year offers an excellent opportunity for you to connect with state drinking water program administrators. Present your products and services to the people who influence buying decisions. Increase your awareness of new and critical regulatory and legislative drinking water issues. Join us to discuss these issues with the states, EPA, and other concerned stakeholders.  
 
ASDWA Conference exhibitors are public and private corporations, trade associations, and assistance providers to the water community.  The focus of the exhibits includes treatment technologies, especially technologies appropriate for small systems and alternative technologies; water security technologies; and equipment such as membrane filtration, corrosion control, and disinfection.  Also welcome are exhibitors that provide information and services on regulatory compliance; educational, training and assistance programs; and data management services and products.

PRESENTATIONS

Deadline for Abstracts:

You are invited to submit an abstract for ASDWA’s 26th 2011 Annual Conference.  ASDWA will give priority to abstracts received from state drinking water program administrators or their staff and from those who partner with state programs.
 
Presentation Themes:
  • SDWA implementation approaches and strategies
  • State revolving loan fund tools and techniques/green infrastructure strategies
  • Drinking water security strategies, tools, or techniques for states and utilities
  • Small systems:  TMF,  sustainability strategies, technologies, and compliance
  • Workforce, operator certification, and/or technical assistance initiatives
  • Source water protection and sustainability of water supplies
  • Climate change, water and energy efficiency, and conservation
  • Clean Water Act/SDWA connections, nitrogen and phosphorous pollution
  • Data management
  • Distribution system issues
  • Emerging contaminants in drinking water
  • Drinking water research, training, and innovative technologies
  • Risk communication and consumer outreach 
Instructions for Submissions:
  • Submit a one page abstract by July 1, 2011;
  • Include a title for the proposed presentation and the name, title, and affiliation of the intended speaker(s);
  • Include the mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address for the intended speaker(s); and
  • Submit the abstract to ASDWA via regular mail, fax, or email to dmason@asdwa.org

Exhibitors have a unique opportunity to discuss critical legislative and regulatory issues with state drinking water administrators, EPA officials, and others in the drinking water community.  In addition, exhibitors are able to present their products and services to those with influence on buying decisions - the state drinking water administrators.
